DeliSoil partner CINSA celebrated Researchers’ Night

On 25 September 2026, Researchers’ Night took place in Parma. On this occasion, CINSA organised an event entitled ‘The secret life of the soil and how to promote its health’, during which it presented the DeliSoil project through activities aimed primarily at children. These activities involved observing soil microarthropods under a microscope, preparing aqueous soil solutions to be spread on agar medium to visualise the growth of the microorganisms present in the soil, and measuring pH.

The children were enthusiastic about completing two soil-related questionnaires to earn the titles of “Soil Superhero” (for under-10s) and “Soil Scientist” (for over-10s). During these activities, the children’s parents had the opportunity to ask questions about the objectives and aims of the DeliSoil project. Around 60 people attended the event.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of soil health and the importance of soil biodiversity among younger generations. By combining hands-on experiments with interactive learning, CINSA introduced children and their families to the hidden life beneath our feet and the role of soil microorganisms in maintaining healthy soils. Through initiatives like this, the DeliSoil project continues to promote scientific curiosity and encourage greater public understanding of the importance of sustainable soil management.
