DeliSoil at FEMS MICRO Milan 2025

DeliSoil took part in FEMS MICRO 2025, Europe’s premier congress and exhibition for microbial research, held in Milan, Italy, from 14th to 17th July 2025. The event brought together researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and early-career scientists to explore the frontiers of microbiological research and its applications to global challenges. With dedicated focus areas including Eco Innovation, Health Horizons, Biotechnology and Engagement & Growth, the event offered a dynamic platform for meaningful learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional development, designed to inspire and empower the next generation of microbiologists.

During the congress, Annamaria Bevivino, Research Director at ENEA’s Sustainable Agrifood Systems Division and Work Package leader of the DeliSoil project, delivered an oral presentation titled: “Microbiome-based solutions and soil improvers for healthy soils: a data-mining approach and application of tailored solutions in greenhouse and field”. This presentation was part of the Soil Biotechnology & Agriculture symposium session. Additionally, Lorenzi Nolfi, PhD student at Tuscia University and ENEA, presented a poster entitled: “Biosafety assessment of raw materials and soil improvers for a safe use in agriculture”, highlighting Task 1.3 of Work Package 1 of the DeliSoil project.

The participation at FEMS MICRO 2025 provided an excellent platform to showcase DeliSoil’s innovative microbiome-based approaches for sustainable agriculture and healthy soils, fostering new collaborations and knowledge exchange within the international microbiology community.
